Eligibility : Court clears Adeleke

By Owolabi Labode

An Osun High Court sitting in Osogbo on Wednesday cleared the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),  Senator Ademola Adeleke on the case of eligibility brought against him by some members of the party.

The presiding judge, Justice  Akin Oladimeji in his address  admitted there were obvious discrepancies in the certificates submitted, but said the Supreme Court had already pronounced that constitution only demands that whoever will contest gubernatorial election only need to be educated up to secondary school.

He noted that since the constitution did not emphasise passing certain subjects as criterion,  Adeleke is qualified to contest for the governorship seat.

Meanwhile, two members of the party had on Tuesday instituted another case bothering on forgery against the senator.
