By Owolabi Labode
A group, Oyetola Strategic Forum(OSF) has reacted to alleged derogatory comment credited to PDP standard bearer in the September 22 governorship election, Ademola Adeleke on Aregbesola led administration, saying the Senator is a complete misfit for governance.
According to the Chairman of the group, Mr Wale Olaniyi, Ademola by his utterance and appearance remains an indolent of low personality, who could not manage a successful family not to talk of a state.
He argued that the position of the lawmaker on the salary payment in Osun, in which he described the modulated salary scheme as "half salary " confirmed Adeleke's paucity of knowledge on virtually every thing concerning public office.
Olaniyi opined that the greatest political malady ever witnessed in the history of the state was the candidature of Adeleke, insisting that he lacks basic knowledge to comprehend technical narrative of governance.
He said "what do you expect of a 58-year -old dunce without secondary school certificate; how do you want such element to understand intricacy of political -economy and interprete it appropriately.
"Saying that Osun workers are suffering because of half salary clearly revealed that this man has no business in governance but disco house. I doubt if this element have read a single book in the last 30 years.
" If a grandfather of his age can still not talk with logical precision and informed expression other than beer parlour's parlance, definitely such a character is a disgrace of high magnitude to his generation, hence, no sound mind should take him serious", he posited.
Olaniyi described modulated salary scheme as a concept of necessity, and a passionate response to chronic economic predicament that befell the state as a result of sudden reduction in the federal allocations to all the federating units.
He added that the scheme, mischievously called "half salary" by enemies of the state was an arrangement among all necessary stakeholders including government, and labour unions, in which workers between grade levels 8 to 11 get 75 per cent of their monthly salaries, and 50% paying to workers between grade levels 11 to 17 while others from grade levels 1 to 7 are collecting their full salaries pending the time the revenue of the state will improve.
The Chairman noted that all these conditions of modulated salaries are also applicable to all political office holders , who have been getting 50% of their approved salaries for years as part of sacrifice to sustain the developmental drive of Governor Aregbesola.
He however asserted that the All Progressives Congress' flag bearer, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola remains the only one among all the candidates that possesses necessary political and administrative credentials to steer the ship of the state without blemish, as he implored electorate in the state to support him with their votes.
