Christmas : Pray for emergence of lovers of truth in 2019- Osun PDP chair charges Nigerians

As Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ globally today , the Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Osun State,  Soji Adagunodo  has enjoined Nigerians to pray for emergence of truthful leaders in 2019.


He stressed that the moment of the celebration must go beyond merry making alone but serve as a period of sober reflection on the 2019 general elections. 

"As the 2019 general elections draw nearer,  Christians must,without seasons,pray for peaceful polls and the emergence of lovers of truth,fairness and justice."

"They must also  inculcate the spirit of love, peace and endurance, and display the ideals of faithfulness, honesty and kindness, for which  Jesus Christ was known.

"While the Christmas merriment feels the air, everyone should reflect on the virtues the Lord Jesus epitomises.

"As the  birth of Jesus Christ was announced with felicity,we should continually be joyful, despite our challenges, hopeful for a more prosperous year ahead," Adagunodo said

Lawal Approves 28 Games For Osun Sports' Festival

Osun State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Yemi Lawal has approved 28 different sports for the upcoming sports fiesta that will cut across the nooks and crannies of the state. This is contained in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Sports' Council, Mrs Funmilayo Moradeyo on Wednesday. The approved sports are; football, volleyball, basketball, handball; hockey, cricket, table tennis, chess, ayo olopon, draft, scrabble, boxing; Taekwondo and kick- boxing. Others are; Para- powerlifting, konfu, karate, judo, wrestling, swimming, athletics, badminton, squash, cycling tennis and weightlifting. The commissioner in a meeting with the Sports Council staff, coaches and local government sports coordinators, observed that "it is high time we started to develop sports from the grassroot, put the age limit of the athlete that  can feature in the sports fiesta to be 15- 29. OAU Reunion: Accounting Dept. 2001 Set Embarks On Massive Renovation, Visits Ooni (Photos)

As part of the reunion programme of the 2001 set of Management & Accounting Department of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife, the association has renovated several classrooms and other facilities in the Faculty of Administration. The association, before commissioning of the renovated facilities on Saturday, paid royal homage to the palace of Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.
