Ede Poly admits new students, as Rector hails governing council

The Federal Polythecnic, Ede, Osun State on March 1,2019 admitted new set of students for 2018/2019 academic session, as the Rector, Dr Taiwo Adekolawole hailed Prof Musa Yauri led governing council.
The Rector, in his address said the matriculation ceremony was significant, being a formal acceptance of all students admitted into the various courses of study offered by the institution for the÷ 2018/2019 academic session.
He informed the gathering that out of the total 6,682 candidates that subscribed to the polytechnic through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination(UTME), only 5,432 were qualified for Post- UTME screening exercise.
Adekolawole explained that out of those that sat for the Post-UTME, 1,282 students were offered admission for Diploma full time programme, and 1425 for Higher National Diploma(HND), aside minimum number of students admitted for daily and regular part-time programme.
He however commended the governing council of the institution for what he termed it's unflinching cooperation and support for the citadel.
"I want to sincerely acknowledge and appreciate the unflinching support and cooperation of the Polytechnic Governing Council under the leadership of Prof. Musa Yauri.
"Prof. Yauri had toiled day and night to bring growth, development and stability to the polytechnic. He had used his connections and goodwill to assist Management to address many operation deficiencies which marred the growth development and recognition of the institution", he said.
Adekolawole further said that the economic base of the institution has tremendously improved, disclosing that the institution had developed a students' Information Management System that enables students to complete all registrations and payment online.
"I wish to give glory to God graciously answering our prayers. Finally, I wish to testify that God still answer prayers of all those who trust in him. You are hereby requested to return to God, and God will descend closer to you. I am grateful indeed to President Muhammadu Buhari and the Federal Government for giving me opportunity to serve as the 5th Rector of this great institution".
