‘Learner’ Crushes Beggar To Death In Ondo

An inexperienced driver on Tuesday crushed a roadside beggar to death along Old garage in Akure, Ondo State

Newsday gathered that four other beggars were injured by the driver of a Toyota Camry Muscle with number plate BDG 694GK, who rammed into the beggars where they were seated, opposite a popular Pharmacy.

Eyewitness account hinted that the vehicle was coming from a junction close to the pharmacy, but lost control and hit the beggars where they beg for alms.

It was learnt that one of the beggars died instantly, while four others sustained severe degrees of injuries.

It took the timely intervention of detectives from ‘A’ Division to evacuate the body of the deceased from the scene and rushed the injured persons to the hospital for treatment.

The eyewitness, blamed the accident on the driver, who is a learner and could not control the steering.

Also a sympathizer, who spoke with our correspondent said the accident would have been averted, if the learner had instructor beside him.
