Oyetola @ 67: SSA, Dayo Fashola Celebrates With Orphanage Homes, Market Women

Senior Special Assistant, SSA, on Protocols to Osun State Governor, Oladayo Fashola on Wednesday dole out gifts to orphanage homes and market women to celebrate the 67th birthday anniversary of Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

Fashola, founder of The Gem Foundation, gave credit to Sujimoto for sending a thousand package to distribute among those the governor loves to identify with.
While fielding questions from journalists at Abiye orphanage home, Fashola said " Oyetola doesn't like much ceremony, he is a very low-key person and a silent hard worker, so if you want him to be happy, you should identify with the people he cares for. 

"He is passionate about the vulnerable in the community. Governor would love us to come here today to celebrate his birthday.
"We have been to Hausa community in Ayetoro, Fomwan, Jalayemi Orphanage Home and we will round it up at Isale Osun with the aged men and women. 

She advised the children to imbibe the culture of excellence, noting that in order to get ahead in life, excellence must be an habit.
She also urged them to be punctual, truthful and mindful of their utterances.

"Even the members of the opposition, they identified with him. We have some members of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, here with us celebrating Mr Governor, so I would advice the children to imbibe the culture of excellence because when you excel, even your opponents will acknowledge you that you're a man of integrity and should be celebrated.
While identifying with market women at Igbona, gifts were also given to them to celebrate Governor Oyetola's birthday.

Speaking on behalf of the market women, Iyaloja Igbona Market, Abibat Olayiwola congratulated Governor Oyetola on the occasion of his birthday, stating that they will continue to support him in his developmental strides in the state.

Lawal Approves 28 Games For Osun Sports' Festival

Osun State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Yemi Lawal has approved 28 different sports for the upcoming sports fiesta that will cut across the nooks and crannies of the state. This is contained in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Sports' Council, Mrs Funmilayo Moradeyo on Wednesday. The approved sports are; football, volleyball, basketball, handball; hockey, cricket, table tennis, chess, ayo olopon, draft, scrabble, boxing; Taekwondo and kick- boxing. Others are; Para- powerlifting, konfu, karate, judo, wrestling, swimming, athletics, badminton, squash, cycling tennis and weightlifting. The commissioner in a meeting with the Sports Council staff, coaches and local government sports coordinators, observed that "it is high time we started to develop sports from the grassroot, put the age limit of the athlete that  can feature in the sports fiesta to be 15- 29. As part of the reunion programme of the 2001 set of Management & Accounting Department of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife, the association has renovated several classrooms and other facilities in the Faculty of Administration.
